Dianella Lodge was built as one of the first lodges in the Kosciuszko National Park in 1964. The original building contained bunk accommodation and basic cooking and dining facilities for 10 people.
In the late 1980s the building was renovated to improve the sleeping arrangements and increase the living spaces, as well as providing a boot room and laundry. The lodge also gained a timber deck facing the Telemark T-bar. In 2025, further internal renovations modernised the remaining original accommodation.
Smaller projects have been undertaken to improve energy efficiency and reduce resource use, as well as keep the lodge comfortable for the generations of skiers and boarders who have stayed there.
